From Page to Stage: Sketch Writing Level 3

Ages 18+: You wrote a sketch! You’ve refined it! It’s hilarious! Now, what? Learn how to take what’s on the page and put it on the stage. Words have new life the moment a performer takes hold of them and this will add another layer of escalation to your comedy writing. Stage time also means props and costumes. How much do you need to make the comedy come alive? Students will learn the tools necessary to collaborate with others and best utilize their resources when it comes to performance time. (Participating students must enter the class with their own completed 3-5 page sketch to workshop.)

Instructor's Bio:Karyn (KB) Ben Singer (they/them) has written for independent stage and screen productions since the late 1900s and currently collaborates with the Alabama Film Co-op as a screenwriting coach. KB has written, directed and self-produced several short and feature films, with multiple projects having achieved finalist status in film festivals across the country.
