Voice & Movement for Performance
Class
Shenanigans Comedy Theatre - Black Box - 2650 Leeman Ferry Road Southwest, Suite F, Huntsville, AL 35801, USA
Ages 17+: Knowing how to recite lines or quickly improvise are key elements of performance, but are you using your whole self? Our voices and bodies are key to shaping our presence on stage or screen. This class is an introduction to the mind-body connection that can elevate your performances. Great to have in your toolbox for sketch, improv, stage, screen, and even stand-up!
This class will be taught by KB Singer. KB studied Theatre for Performance under UCLA Alumni Dr. Rick Roemer and Professor Alissa Welsch, utilizing methods of the Meisner Technique in both scene study and improvisation. As a performer, KB has applied this education on stage in original works and Shakespeare productions since 2000.As of 2009, KB has directed actors for both theatre and film, including a collaboration with the Southern California live performance group, The Industrial Players, from 2014-2022. In 2024, KB began directing sketch comedy for Shenanigans Comedy Theatre and hopes to introduce elements of traditional theatre training into the mix to help new performers develop skills that can be carried on as they pursue creative growth.
